Staff at your institution can tell you about the many Australian Government grants and scholarships available for overseas study, as well as any scholarships and other support that may be available from your institution.
Most institutions have a dedicated student mobility office, and individual faculties often have overseas studies programs as well, so speak to staff to find out more!
Scholarships for study overseas are available from many different sources. In this section you will find Australian Government scholarships such as the New Colombo Plan and links to other websites and databases to get you started on finding the right support for you.
The New Colombo Plan
The New Colombo Plan is a signature initiative of the Australian Government. The program will provide significant new opportunities for undergraduate study and internships in the Indo Pacific region. Stay in touch with your university about the scholarships and grants opportunities under the New Colombo Plan starting from 2014.
Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships
The Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships is an internationally competitive program for Australians to undertake study, research and professional development abroad and citizens from eligible countries to do the same in Australia.
Scholarships and awards are sometimes offered by destination countries, host institutions or other organisations to support Australian students. The Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships website has a list of some of these opportunties.
OS-HELP is a loan available to Australian undergraduate students who want to do part of their study overseas.
Many of the eligibility requirements for OS-HELP will be changing from January 2014. For example, postgraduate students will be eligible to access OS-HELP loans from this date.
Make sure you read up about these changes to find out how they may affect you.
