Tertiary studies in Brazil
The higher education system in Brazil comprises federal, state, municipal and private institutions, offering undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. Private institutions account for 89% of all higher education institutions and are mostly focused on coursework degrees. Most research is developed in public institutions.
There are three types of higher education institutions in Brazil: Universidades, Centros Universitários and Faculdades, all of which offer both undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses. The qualifications obtained in all institutions are the same.

Visa and Entry

Australians will need to apply for a student visa before travelling to Brazil to study. This should be done through the Ministry of External Relations and the local Consulates and Embassies in Australia.
